i don't blog... i weblog
by the encouragement of a few friends, increasing boredom, and lack of self-worth i've decided to post my sports related thoughts on this website. i acknowledge the implied arrogance that comes from starting this, that is to say, thinking that people actually care about my opinions. but i also acknowledge that you all have facebooks, myspace pages, eharmonys, so the implied arrogance is shared. what really chaps my ass is the constant east-coast or west-coast biases you hear or read. also adhering to grammatical rules. i say out with the old-hag approach to sports fanship. i believe the modern-fan likes teams that may vary outside of geographical regions. i believe the term "small market team" is used in a condescending way. i like my athletes with drug habits, DUIs and personalities. because they are people, and just because we watch them play on tv, doesn't make them any more a "role model" than your dad that has a couple drinks and drives home. michael phelps is better now because he whooped the world's ass and smokes weed. real sports fans like american football and the world's football. i enjoy the mental sweat that comes from a lively debate, argument is more fun than agreement. i'm not expecting anything, just tryin to have a good time.
